Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Sasha Velour

Video Of AOC Meeting Famous Drag Queen Sparks Right-Wing Fury

An adorable video of Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez meeting gender-fluid drag queen and Ru Paul’s Drag Race winner Sasha Velour is circulating online, and the only thing that could possibly make it better is the crying of right-wing trolls, of which there is plenty. The two of them met at Velour’s theater show “Smoke & Mirrors” in D.C., where long-time LGBTQ+ supporter Ocasio-Cortez received a standing ovation.

“I thought it was amazing, it was incredible, it was fabulous,” Ocasio-Cortez said of the show. “I’m like that Lady Gaga moment where she’s like, ‘stunning, amazing, impeccable, genius.'” Velour seems to be just as big of a fan of the congresswoman.

“Can you believe? From the revolutionary of our time. I love you so much, thank you for being here,” said Velour before they hugged.

This touching display was delightful for most, but some on the right were, you might say, “triggered” by the sight of Ocasio-Cortez and a beloved drag queen at the same time.

Dave Rubin of the Rubin Report, aired on the Glenn Beck owned Blaze TV, accidentally set our hearts aflame further with a simple response to the video.

This, but unironically.

Others went so far as to say they’d rather become actual Nazis then allow two people who enjoy the right to express themselves to engage in mutual respect and affection. As though they weren’t already most of the way there regardless.

Many other negative responses were met with those two magic words.

Anyway, here are the much more important uplifting and supportive responses from the cool kids:

Some people might just need to look in the mirror while wearing their $30 “get over it” t-shirts.
