Chrissy Teigen is opening up over her recent Twitter spat with President Trump. The actress sat down with Ellen DeGeneres this morning to talk about how she felt to be the focus of Donald Trump’s rantings and ravings.
Because Trump has had more feuds with celebrities than any other President, here’s a primer on the Teigen incident. Basically, Teigen’s husband John Legend appeared on MSNBC and spoke to Lester Holt about criminal justice reform. Apparently Trump didn’t feel praised enough, and he lashed out at the Grammy-winning artist and his wife on social media.

“Guys like boring musician @johnlegend, and his filthy mouthed wife, are talking now about how great it is—but I didn’t see them around when we needed help getting it passed,” Trump tweeted in a series of angry missives about not getting enough credit.
Teigen, who has been blocked by Trump, was unaware of even being called a “filthy mouthed wife” until folks sent her screenshots of the diatribe.
“My heart stopped because, at that moment, you know that you’re about to get the wildest group of people,” she told Ellen.
“He just went in. He called John a ‘boring musician’ and ‘his filthy mouthed wife,’ which those two things are true. John is boring, I do have a filthy mouth. But when it’s you, when the card lands on you that day, it’s just really like, ‘Oh, crap!’ ’cause your whole night’s ruined.”
“It was a weird feeling. I was really angry. I think my eyes filled up with water just at the shock of it. I can’t believe this really happened right now. He just goes on these rants—usually very late at night for him. You just wait for him to say something, but you don’t think it’s going to be you.”
Teigen tweeted back a simple insult. She called the President a “pussy ass bitch.” That started a new hashtag: #PresidentPussyAssBitch.
“I had so many group chats going that night of just hilarious people and people making funny videos sending to me,” Teigen said of the response to the tweet war. “So, then you laugh about it.”
She also said she’s not cleaning up her language:
“I’m ok with him not liking me,” she said.
