Claudia Conway, daughter of Kellyanne and George Conway, posted a series of TikTok videos Thursday night complaining about difficulty breathing, with one showing a pulse oximeter reading 91 percent blood oxygen levels, which is below the normal range of 95 to 100 percent.
Kellyanne Conway, who has served as “counselor to the president” since 2017, recently announced that she had tested positive for COVID-19 after the White House super-spreader event that also infected Donald Trump. Now it would appear that her daughter, who became a TikTok sensation for posting videos criticizing her parents and the Trump administration, has contracted the virus as well.
In the captions and comments on this and other videos, 15-year-old Claudia said her lungs hurt and it was difficult for her to breathe, yet her mother refused to take her to the hospital, claiming that it’s not necessary.
“Do I go to the hospital now?” she said in the video showing her low blood oxygen levels.
Many commenters urged her to see a doctor, noting that anything below 95 percent oxygen saturation is concerning for people without chronic respiratory issues, and particularly for someone so young. Some said that she wouldn’t be in danger until her levels dropped below 90, but anything much lower than that should send her straight to the hospital.
According to the Lung Health Institute, anyone with oxygen saturation levels below 90 percent will require supplemental oxygen. Health experts have also warned about COVID-19 causing low blood oxygen levels without the typical shortness of breath, resulting in victims seeking care too late and dying of respiratory failure.
People have recently expressed concern about Claudia’s safety in the Conway household, noting signs of child endangerment in her TikTok videos. She recently posted footage of Kellyanne yelling and cursing at her, and has accused her mother of “coughing all around the house” and forcing her to delete videos.
In follow-up videos, Kellyanne can be heard telling Claudia to “tell them right now: ‘My mom had three tests.'” In one, a commenter tells her to remove her earrings if she’s in danger, which Claudia does almost immediately after the comment appears.
Claudia does not appear to have posted anything else since late Thursday night
