Jason Selvig and Davram Stiefler are a “stunt comedy” duo called The Good Liars. They basically create satirical posters, flyers, and whatever else they can print out that comments on the current political nightmare we are all embroiled in. There’s a lot of material for them to work with.
Their latest gag was sneaking in a Barnes and Noble and giving Donald Trump Junior’s book a new cover. It was titled Triggered: How the Left Thrives on Hate and Wants to Silence Us, which also sounds like satire, actually. They replaced it with a cover that reads, “Daddy, Please Love Me: How Everything I Do Is Try To Earn My Father’s Love.”
We changed the cover of Don Jr's book to make it a little more honest and put them up in Barnes and Noble. You're welcome, Junior! pic.twitter.com/ZZqfRP6Jhj— Jason Selvig (@jasonselvig) November 7, 2019
The Good Liars sent a statement to the Hill on their objective here:
We did the stunt to reach Don Jr. It’s really sad to watch him try to earn his father’s love so publicly. It’s pretty obvious that President Trump doesn’t love him, and Junior’s attempts to get his father’s attention — dressing up as his father for halloween and marrying a Fox News personality that looks conspicuously like Melania — have been really hard to watch.
Aw, how compassionate. Save him from himself.
Some past pranks from the pair have included ads for a law office run by “Crazy Rudy” Giuliani and fake Fox News promos with the tagline “Comfort Food For Stupid People.”
It is fun to bag on Don Jr., who is an obsequious creepo, but if everything he’s doing really is for daddy’s love, that’s a pretty sad existence. We all know Donald Trump isn’t capable of loving anyone but himself.
