Server Asks For ‘Dumbest Customers’ Stories, Gets Flooded With Responses

Working in customer service is painful, because the biggest part of your job is keeping everyone who comes into your establishment happy. And that’s basically impossible, because so many people are stupid and terrible. They’ve also had the words “the customer is always right” drilled into their heads, so you can’t correct them—even if it’s for their own good.

Twitter user @baz00per started a conversation about the “dumbest thing a customer has gotten mad” at a service worker for, sharing their own story of waiting on someone at a sushi restaurant. The customer got mad about a straw being in her drink because of “saving the oceans” but proceeded to eat a ton of wild-caught fish. If you haven’t heard, that’s very, very bad for the oceans.

They just couldn’t stop thinking about it:

There were so many responses, they had to mute the thread, but they took a valuable lesson from the conversation. All service workers should get to pop off at least once a year.

I think that’s a fair compromise, and so will you after reading all of these:
