In what would be a new low for most people but for this guy just a new medium, former Deputy Assistant to the President for Trump and former Fox News contributor Sebastian Gorka called 17-year-old climate activist Greta Thunberg “thunder thighs” on his radio show. This happened after guest Andrew Klavan, who recently came under fire for claiming that “zero women can fight with swords,” couldn’t remember her name while talking about the Nick Sandmann lawsuit.
“These are people who will defend Greta Thun-, whatever her name, what is her name?” Klavan asked. “Thunder thighs,” Gorka said, laughing. “Greta Thunberg.”
This comment has been widely panned for being gross and creepy coming from a middle-aged man talking about a 17-year-old girl, not to mention the random body shaming. Maybe there’s a reason people feel like they have to defend her?
And the award for a$$hole of the year goes to... Sebastian Gorka calls climate activist Greta Thunberg "thunder thighs" on air.— Terrence Daniels (Captain Planet) (@Terrence_STR) January 8, 2020
They really are small people with huge platforms, giant salaries, zero brains, and fragile egos. Pathetic is an understatement. pic.twitter.com/QPHb2Mlt3w
She is 17 years old. What the actual fuck. https://t.co/S8ty1IWAZH— Parker Molloy (@ParkerMolloy) January 7, 2020
Gorka has been accused of having ties to Nazi organizations after using a title given by the Historical Order of Vitéz, a Hungarian order that the U.S. State Department says came “under the direction of the Nazi government of Germany” during World War II. He also declared support for the neo-fascist organization the Hungarian Guard in 2007.
Right-wing figures like Gorka have called Thunberg every name under the sun as they find themselves intimidated by a teenage girl. Most recently, recording artist Meat Loaf called her “brainwashed,” which Thunberg responded to with a tweet containing a video demonstrating the fact that we have about seven years left in our carbon budget.
It’s not about Meatloaf.— Greta Thunberg (@GretaThunberg) January 6, 2020
It’s not about me.
It’s not about what some people call me.
It’s not about left or right.
It’s all about scientific facts.
And that we’re not aware of the situation.
Unless we start to focus everything on this, our targets will soon be out of reach. https://t.co/UwyoSnLiK2
When a 17-year-old is more mature than 70-year-old men.
