Greta Thunberg Roasts Her Critics In A Viral Twitter Thread: ‘Being Different Is Not An Illness’

Teen activist Greta Thunberg has been attracting a lot of attention over the last year. Though she started protesting climate destruction outside the Swedish parliament all by herself, 4 million people joined her all over the world for this month’s Climate Strike. She also gave an amazing speech at the U.N. climate summit that quickly went viral for being so emotionally moving. Thunberg has millions of supporters who admire her courage and passion.

She also has a lot of haters. Many of those haters are conservative, many of them are men, and many of them are total creeps. One is, of course, Donald Trump. In a tweet thread on Wednesday, Thunberg decided to ask the people who actually like her to stop wasting their time on these jerks.

“Here we go again…,” she began. “As you may have noticed, the haters are as active as ever — going after me, my looks, my clothes, my behaviour and my differences. They come up with every thinkable lie and conspiracy theory.”

“It seems they will cross every possible line to avert the focus, since they are so desperate not to talk about the climate and ecological crisis,” she continued. “Being different is not an illness and the current, best available science is not opinions — it’s facts.”

Thunberg has talked openly about having Asperberger’s many times, a form of autism. She has even said that in the fight against climate destruction, it’s like a superpower that helps her focus her energy on a very important issue.

“I honestly don’t understand why adults would choose to spend their time mocking and threatening teenagers and children for promoting science,” she added, “When they could do something good instead. I guess they must simply feel so threatened by us.”

“But don’t waste your time giving them any more attention,” she concluded. “The world is waking up. Change is coming whether they like it or not. See you in the streets this Friday!”

Yep, Thunberg is still protesting every Friday. She’s showing her dedication to making a positive change while scared adult men show a dedication to harassing her. Let’s give her our attention, and ignore them.
