National Security Council official Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman sat through his testimony for the House impeachment inquiry this week. Vindman is a Ukraine expert who was listening in on Donald trump’s now-infamous call to the Ukrainian president.
What he had to say didn’t please the GOP, because Republican talking heads jumped onto Twitter to slander him almost immediately, including Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., who wrote, “Anyone listening to Vindman stammer through this seemingly trying to remember the Catch Phrases he was well coached on should get that. He’s a low level partisan bureaucrat and nothing more.”

This didn’t sit well with comedian Jimmy Kimmel, who dedicated a big part of his show’s opening monologue on Tuesday night to dragging the president’s “third favorite son” for trying to besmirch Vindman’s name, even though he is trying to do what’s right. Kimmel read the tweet, then launched into it.
“That’s right, the slicked-back sperm sample who never served anybody is questioning the integrity of a lieutenant colonel with a Purple Heart,” Kimmel started. “Daddy Bone Spurs must be very proud of him.”
He continued: “But this is their strategy. The goal of the Republicans is to smear them, to confuse us, to bore us, to question the loyalty and patriotism of lifelong civil servants and even members of our military, who’ve served heroically.
“They are intentionally damaging these Americans to protect the lowlife they know is a lowlife, but they also know that defending him makes them popular amongst a certain group. So they do it anyway.”
