Tweet mocking Trump for saying he will designate antifa as a terrorist group

Top 17 Jokes Dunking On Trump’s Vow To Designate “ANTIFA” As A Terrorist Organization

Donald Trump, possibly while hiding in the White House bunker while protesters outside demanded justice, tweeted on Sunday that he will be designating what he calls “ANTIFA” as a “Terrorist Organization.” Antifa is short for “anti-fascist” and is not an acronym that should be in all caps.

Anti-fascists are also not an “organization” with any kind of central leadership, but rather includes anyone anywhere who is against fascism. According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, the term “antifa” was first used in 1946 and was borrowed from a German phrase signaling an opposition to Nazism. The term gained popularity again after the election of Donald Trump in 2016.

It’s very unlikely that President Trump has the authority to make such a declaration in any legal sense. With all that considered, the threat has largely failed to intimidate and has quickly been turned into a massive joke.
