It’s almost hard to believe that after four years of President Trump, months of election fraud claims and fears that he would find a way to overturn the results, and an actual attempted coup on his behalf, we have some semblance of normalcy back in the White House.
Though there is plenty of work to be done, many are feeling a deep sense of relief that we made it across that finish line, bruised and freaked out as we may be.
In classic form, Twitter users are expressing this relief via jokes. Many referenced the potential need to clean and spiritually purify the building following the departure of the Trumps, starting with Queen Rihanna herself. Others pondered the whereabouts of the most elusive Trump child, Barron.
From the transition preparations to Inauguration Day to Biden’s first hours of work, there are plenty of jokes to be found both from people who are happy Biden is in office and people who are just ecstatic that Trump is gone. Political jokes might not be quite as extremely easy to come up with from now on, but it’s a small price to pay to say goodbye to President Donald Trump.
