During an extensive interview promoting his new album Jesus is King, Kanye West touched on political topics and went a little bit off the rails, declaring with confidence that he absolutely will be president one day and saying that his wearing of a MAGA hat in public was a practical joke…from God.

“I’m a son now, a son of God and I’m free, but this shows you that God is hilarious,” said West. “Liberals love art and now, I am unquestionably, undoubtedly the greatest human artist of all time. It’s just a fact, right?”
“So, to put a red hat on was God’s practical joke on all liberals like, ‘Nooooo not Kanye!'”
West has repeatedly faced criticism for wearing the MAGA hat as well meeting with Donald Trump and lavishing him with compliments.
“There was something about when I put this hat on it made me feel like Superman,” he said to Trump during a 2018 White House meeting. “You made a Superman—that’s my favorite superhero—you made a Superman cape for me.” He also hugged Trump, saying “I love this guy right here.”
Additionally, West seems to love the idea of being president himself and has already determined that it will happen.
“There will be a time when I will be the president of the U.S. and I will remember…any founder that didn’t have the capacity to understand culturally what we were doing,” he said, though nobody seems to know what he means by “founder.” But it sounds like he’s already planning revenge on somebody.
Twitter users are not so sure they want President West, though.

It was not. And he will never be president.
Kanye West desperately needs mental health.
Please tell him I said that.

Considering who the president is now, a West presidency feels not impossible.
