U.S. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene managed to make a so-so Jimmy Kimmel joke ten times funnier by filing a police report against the late night talk show host and comedian for said joke, which referenced the Will Smith slap at the 2022 Oscars. Speaking on Greene’s calling three Republicans who have committed to voting to confirm the supremely qualified Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court “pedophiles,” Kimmel had a short one-liner in response.

“Where’s Will Smith when you really need him?” he said.

Greene went to Twitter to announce that she had filed a report with the D.C. police against him for what she called a “threat.” This resulted in another one-liner from Kimmel.

“Officer? I would like to report a joke,” he tweeted.

It is, of course, very unlikely that anything will come of Greene’s police report, mostly because there’s no way to interpret this as Kimmel actually saying he was going to unleash Will Smith upon her. All she’s done is take a forgettable joke about her and blown it up so that everyone hears the joke and Kimmel gets a ton of attention, plus material for his next set.

Greene has also once again exposed herself as a massive hypocrite in multiple ways, one of which involves her personal response to Will Smith slapping Chris Rock. In a tweet that is still up for the world to see, she called Will Smith’s actions an “Alpha male response” and that the entire scene was “much better than a Twitter fight with people saying tough things on their keyboard behind their screen.”

Then she started a Twitter fight by making a tough claim about calling the police on a joke behind her screen.

This is also the same woman who was giving Facebook likes to people directly calling for physical violence against Democrats during her campaign for her seat in Congress and moderating a Facebook group in which this type of rhetoric was common. Then there was the time she posted an image of herself holding a gun next to a photo of Representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib, calling herself the “Squad’s worst nightmare.”

Also, all the ways she helped plan and encourage the January 6 insurrection at the Capitol.

Greene has denied that any of her words or actions constitute threats of violence and are fine because freedom of speech, while Kimmel’s joke about wanting someone else to slap her warrants a call to the D.C. police she trashed after the insurrection.

But Republicans are immune to irony, so let’s just enjoy all the jokes Greene has inspired at her own expense.
