The news just broke that during Donald Trump’s interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos in the Oval Office, acting chief of staff Mick Mulvaney had the audacity to let out a cough while Trump was giving an answer. For some reason, this offended Trump mightily.
In an outtake from @ABC interview, Mulvaney coughs and Trump skips, loses focus, stops, demands to shoot it again, then chastises Mulvaney: "He's coughing in the middle of my answer...I don't like that...you just can't cough...if you're gonna cough, please leave the room." pic.twitter.com/171OlVQfdP— Amee Vanderpool (@girlsreallyrule) June 17, 2019
“Let’s do that over. He’s coughing in the middle of my answer,” Trump said according to CNN. “I don’t like that, you know, I don’t like that.”
Sometimes coughing is involuntary, Mr. President.
“If you’re going to cough, please leave the room. You just can’t, you just can’t cough,” he continued. “Boy, oh boy.”
This latest presidential weirdness once again found a defender in Meghan McCain, who indeed brought up the issue of Ebola on The View.
“My No. 1 fear in life, in general, above all things, is getting the Ebola virus, above all else,” McCain said. “It’s my biggest fear in the entire world.”
Co-host Joy Behar asked if we even have the Ebola virus here in the U.S., which got McCain a little frantic.
“Yes, it’s been here,” she said. “Remember? I’ll never forget. But I literally, anytime anyone starts coughing or whatever — you know, we see it here. You can get all the hosts sick. We have been sick here at the same time. I am that person, I would probably make someone leave if they were, like — I’m a germaphobe.”
There have been a total of 11 confirmed cases of Ebola in the U.S., with the first ever cases occurring during the 2014 outbreak.
Donald Trump himself is a confessed germaphobe, and once called the practice of shaking hands “barbaric” because he’s afraid of catching the flu and “all sorts of things.” Still, it seems a little bit unreasonable for the President of the United States to demand that everyone around him refrain from coughing at all times. Even so, nobody should ever intentionally cough on either Trump or Meghan McCain. That would be very rude and not at all hilarious.
Anyway, as usual, people are not impressed with McCain right now.
I knew she's "out there," but damn. Ebola‽https://t.co/TYsertLk2R— Dan J (@RelUnrelated) June 17, 2019
Yes.Coughing is a human condition. I only get annoyed when folks don’t cover their mouths. People cough when water goes down the wrong pipe. Doesn’t mean they’re spreading Ebola.Meghan is ignorant.Ucan’t be a real germaphobe & b comfortable with unprotectedsex with Porn stars.— Lynn B. (@lynnb_b) June 17, 2019

Her number one fear is dying from an incredibly rare, exotic disease that requires bodily fluid transfer? Great real @MeghanMcCain My number one fear is a civil war in America or what the hell will happen about the time you and I reach 65-70 in regards with #GlobalWarming. https://t.co/JNDNAP1wGI— Jenny Boivin (@jaygirl1980) June 17, 2019
