While you might be happy today, it’s a sad scene down by the old QAnon forums, MAGA 4chan, and wherever the Parler Takes Twitter account is getting its screenshots from now.
Trump critics and other normal people are currently getting in four year’s worth of Schadenfreude by grabbing images from message boards and chat rooms where everyone who was told today would be going down differently is trying to cope.
Some are still on the QAnon train, arguing that Joe Biden’s inauguration and Trump’s departure from the White House are all part of some grand plan and everything will be fine.
Many others, however, are feeling more than a bit disillusioned, comparing it all to getting a lump of coal for Christmas. Some are angry and taking it out on their moms, who are just trying to bring them some coping chicken nuggets.
Some of these may even make you feel sorry for the people who got wrapped up in the conspiracy theory as they confess that they’ve lost friends and family for the sake of QAnon or are about to face divorce and asking what they should do now.
Others, however, are clearly using the opportunity to recruit for other, better conspiracy theories (like flat Earth because of course) or to sell Bitcoin. Because of course.
