Rep. Steve King: Humans Would Have Died Out Without Rape And Incest So No Abortion Exception

Iowa Representative Steve King (yes, the white supremacist guy) appears to be trying to outdo himself by saying that people who became pregnant via rape or incest shouldn’t get exemptions from abortion bans because rape and incest are good things, actually. At the very least, he seems to believe it’s so prevalent that the human species would have died out without it.

“What if we went back through all the family trees and just pulled out anyone who was a product of rape or incest? Would there be any population of the world left if we did that?” he said at the Westside Conservative Club on Wednesday.

“Considering all the wars and all the rapes and pillages that happened throughout all these different nations, I know that I can’t say that I was not a part of a product of that.”

This is the same guy who famously wondered why the terms “white nationalist” and “white supremacist” were so offensive to people. You’d think that would be the worst thing he had to say, but this newest quote is quite the contender.

Senators Kirsten Gillibrand and Cory Booker are already calling on King to resign, though previous calls for his resignation have amounted to nothing. After the white supremacist comments, Republicans at least removed him from all of his House committee assignments. Is there anything else they can do to punish him aside from removing him from Congress at this point?

It takes a lot these days to shock people, but it appears that many on Twitter are legitimately blown away.

Good luck with that re-election campaign, Steve.
