Anyone who has worked a customer-facing job understands that dealing with ignorance and idiocy is an unavoidable part of your responsibilities. There are always members of the general public who have unrealistic expectations, can’t be bothered to figure basic things out for themselves, or just don’t seem to be operating in reality.
While these tiresome experiences gradually blend together into the daily grind that makes up this thankless work, it’s inevitable that, sooner or later, you will have an interaction with a customer that is so mind-numbingly stupid that it will be seared into your memory forever.
Naturally, the best place to recount these experiences is on social media, where any discomfort or horror you felt at the time can now be shared with others, many of whom get it.
