Stephen King isn’t just one of our country’s greatest horror writers. He’s a member of another illustrious literary group—authors who have been blocked by Donald Trump.
He explained his aversion to both Trump and Vice President Mike Pence during an appearance on The Late Show last year. He told host Stephen Colbert the offense he thought cased him to get blocked: “Well, I might have said he had his head somewhere where… a certain yoga position would be necessary to get it there,” he said. “And that was it, man!”
When Stephen King isn’t coming up with deliciously demented fiction, he’s an insightful and scathing Twitter critic of Trump.
Sometimes I feel like screaming, "Everybody knows that Trump is as crooked as a broken nose and as dumb as a fencepost. Just quit shitting around and get him the fuck out of there."— Stephen King (@StephenKing) November 7, 2019
King’s latest tweet about Trump’s ongoing impeachment hearings is both succinct and damning.
Trump tried to use blackmail and coercion in order to torpedo the candidacy of the man he saw as his chief roadblock to a second term. Case fucking closed.— Stephen King (@StephenKing) November 17, 2019
“Trump tried to use blackmail and coercion in order to torpedo the candidacy of the man he saw as his chief roadblock to a second term. Case f***ing closed,” the man who gave us The Shining and Carrie wrote.
You’ve got a way with words, have you ever thought about being a writer?

As we head into the second week of the impeachment inquiry, multiple witnesses have already testified that Trump withheld aid to Ukraine to pressure the country into investigating Joe Biden and his son Hunter. Last week, Trump harassed a witness—Marie Yovanovitch—over Twitter while she was literally giving her testimony.
And there’s more to come with Gordon Sondland—Trump’s ambassador to the European Union—scheduled to testify. State Department witness David Holmes alleges Trump asked Sondland on a phone call whether “the investigation” he wanted would be announced. Holmes also says Sondland said yes, adding that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky “loves your ass.”
Yesterday, Trump tweeted that he will “strongly consider” testifying.
Our Crazy, Do Nothing (where’s USMCA, infrastructure, lower drug pricing & much more?) Speaker of the House, Nervous Nancy Pelosi, who is petrified by her Radical Left knowing she will soon be gone (they & Fake News Media are her BOSS), suggested on Sunday’s DEFACE THE NATION....— Donald J. ….that I testify about the phony Impeachment Witch Hunt. She also said I could do it in writing. Even though I did nothing wrong, and don’t like giving credibility to this No Due Process Hoax, I like the idea & will, in order to get Congress focused again, strongly consider it!

I’m sure Mr. King will have something to say about Trump’s testimony, should it ever happen. Maybe he should write a book. He’s so prolific, and anyway, isn’t Trump’s entire presidency one of the most terrifying existential threats of our time? Sometimes the monster isn’t always out to devour your brains—sometimes, the monster is working within the confines of a system that enables him to slowly but surely erode our rights, way of life, and all we hold dear!
