Trump Complains Twitter Trends Are “Illegal” And “Unfair” Because They Aren’t Nice To Him

It’s always hard to predict who or what is going to be the latest target of one of President Trump’s absurd Twitter rants, but on Monday, it turned out to be Twitter itself.

Specifically, Trump took time out of his busy golf schedule to complain about Twitter’s trending topics, even going so far as to call them “illegal.”

“So disgusting to watch Twitter’s so-called “Trending”, where sooo many trends are about me, and never a good one,” he wrote. “They look for anything they can find, make it as bad as possible, and blow it up, trying to make it trend. Really ridiculous, illegal, and, of course, very unfair!”

Of course, trending topics on Twitter are a round-up of common terms, phrases, or hashtags that people on the social media platform are discussing during a specific time frame. So when Trump goes on TV and gives an interview bragging about being able to remember the words person, woman, man, camera, and TV, and people start making fun of him, the algorithm is going to pop that right into the trending topics because, well, it’s trending.

But Trump is addicted to playing the victim, and creating a conspiracy about a social media site being out to get him is a lot more comfortable for him than just realizing that a whole lot of people don’t like him and the dumb things he says are easy fodder for discussing that.

And people had a thing or two to say about his complaints of “illegality.”

Of course, it’s not like Trump has anything better to do than complain about not being universally loved and his warped idea of fairness.

It’s not like this country is in the middle of multiple crises or anything.

Oh well, he’ll probably have someone or something new to rage about in the next few hours and have forgotten all about Twitter and how “illegal” he thinks trending topics are. That’s the news cycle when your president is a spoiled child throwing a perpetual temper tantrum.
