First, Trump called Rep. Elijah Cummings’ city of Baltimore “infested” — and now, he’s apparently mocking Cummings for being burglarized.
“Really bad news! The Baltimore house of Elijah Cummings was robbed. Too bad!” Trump tweeted on Friday morning.

Honestly, coming from anyone else, it might seem like a genuine expression of sympathy. But who are we kidding? This is Trump.
You’re an asshole.

It takes a right cunt to celebrate someone being robbed.

On Thursday, the Baltimore Police Department said they are investigating a report of a burglary that allegedly occurred at Cummings’ house on Saturday in the early morning. Cummings recently confirmed that his house was indeed targeted by an intruder:
“I was notified of the intrusion by my security system, and I scared the intruder away by yelling before the person gained entry into the residential portion of the house,” Cummings said.
“I thank the Baltimore Police Department for their response and ask that all further inquiries be directed to them.”
On Saturday, before the burglary attempt was made public, Trump attached Cummings’ hometown of Baltimore as a “disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess,” also saying that “no human being would want to live there.”
“That’s a real nice house ya got there. Pity if anything happened to it.”
We have a president who thinks/talks like a smalltime gangster.

Even though the burglary happened before Trump’s attacks on Cummings and Baltimore, social media users pointed out that Trump’s incendiary language and today’s mocking tweet could be used to further encourage violence against Cummings.
This isn’t just gloating. This indirectly communicates to his cult followers that he is greenlighting violence against a minority member of Congress.

Sir, your desperation is showing. You are not just spewing racist rhetoric. Now you are endorsing and inciting property damage and violence. You may be large in stature, but you are a sad, small, billion dollar loser of a man. I am a proud American who stands with @RepCummings.

Cummings, who grew up in Baltimore and has been an active part of the Civil Rights Movement since the 1960s, reaffirmed his commitment to his city in response to Trump’s Saturday tweets.
“Every morning, I wake up, and I go and fight for my neighbors. It is my constitutional duty to conduct oversight of the Executive Branch. But, it is my moral duty to fight for my constituents.”
I want to apologize for calling POTUS a POS this week. I was mistaken. At least excrement has a useful biological function. https://t.co/SOeYEbqamN— John Legend (@johnlegend) August 2, 2019
According to CBS Local Baltimore, police are still investigating the incident and do not know whether any property was taken.
