That Ronald Reagan Quote Trump Is Bragging About Is Fake As Hell

The president is really having a bad time. After getting so upset at Fox News that he published a series of ranting tweets about how bad they and every other news outlet is, he tried to lighten the mood by retweeting an image of himself shaking Ronald Reagan’s hand with a quote from the former president talking about how presidential Trump seemed.

The Reagan quote is completely made up, and Twitter has already suspended the ridiculous little account that originally posted the image for spreading false information. But Trump still hasn’t deleted his retweet even though it’s now just him saying “Cute!” to the gray “tweet is unavailable” box.

Thankfully, people are always taking screenshots.

There’s probably no better Trump bait than this. It didn’t take a huge amount of retweets for it to reach the current President and get a presidential retweet. And this from an account that reportedly had less than 200 followers before being suspended and was a cheap copy of the official “Reagan Battalion” Twitter account, which is unfortunately still up.

According to Snopes, the photo is real and was taken at a White House “Friends of Art and Preservation in Embassies” Foundation reception in 1987, but there is no record of the quote anywhere. They did find that the quote seems to have originated from a Facebook page called “Trump Train” that is known for sharing fake quotes and other lies.

In spite of everybody going out of their way to tell Trump that the quote is fake and the account being suspended, the retweet is still up at the time of this article’s publishing.

So get on board the make-fun-of-Trump train while you can.

Or you could just remind him that his buddy Jeffrey Epstein was arrested on human trafficking charges.

There’s going to be a lot of Trump tweeting this week while things get even worse for him, so brace yourself.
