Twitter Spends The First Day Of 2020 Mocking Trump’s New Year’s Eve Party

The Trumps held a lavish New Year’s party at Mar-a-Lago to welcome the new decade, and it was stuffed full of the same kind of weirdness we’ve come to expect from holiday events under this family. Celebrity guests walking in on the red carpet included Mark McGrath, the lead singer of that band you haven’t thought about for 20 years, and the “My Pillow” guy from those infomercials.

The photos from the event make it look like a movie from the 1950’s in which the lights are turned off and the women scream and when they turn back on, a priceless diamond necklace has vanished. Featuring about as many people of color as would be in that movie.

Trump himself was in usual form, not shying away from talking politics during his party. He lashed out at Iran, who he blames for the attack on the U.S. Benghazi embassy, calling Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi “overrated,” complimenting Kim Jong Un, and vehemently denying reports that he was golfing during the embassy attack even though he was seen going to and from a golf resort on the day of.

With the majority of the Trump family in attendance as well as figures like Rudy Giuliani, Charlie Kirk, and the leader of the “Trumpettes,” it’s no surprise that many on Twitter have found a lot of material for jokes.

We put as much effort into this list as Eric did into his beard:
