Christmas 2022 has gifted us with another Waffle House miracle, and yes, of course that means violence was involved.

A viral video on Twitter shows a fight between the workers at the notorious breakfast-based restaurant and a group of customers culminating in one employee pulling a move that has people comparing her to John Wick and Trinity from The Matrix.

The full video is gold from beginning to end, starting with the man filming letting out a heartfelt, but ultimately futile plea for peace.

“Bro, I just want my waffle, son!”

The altercation, which took place in Austin, Texas either on or before December 22 (when the video was posted), lasted for over two minutes, and no one seems to know what started the fight. After a lot of yelling from both sides of the counter, the video skips forward to show a customer standing on a table before getting down to approach the barrier between her and the workers, which is countered with a salt or sugar explosion.

That’s when the angry customers start to breach the barrier, with one woman slapping another condiment container at the workers before slipping off and landing hard on the floor. At that point, the woman now dubbed Waffle House Girl, an employee of the restaurant, starts showing off her moves, landing multiple uppercuts on the intruder as her friends rush to help.

The rest of the customers flee the restaurant and watch through the glass outside. Things calm down for a minute as the cooler heads work to separate the brawlers, but then come the chairs. One of the women who hopped the counter throws a whole metal chair at Waffle House Girl, who catches and deflects the object like an action movie protagonist and beckons for more.

“White girl said ‘what?'” someone can be heard shouting.

This young woman, already tough enough to work a Waffle House shift around Christmas, became an instant meme, and the posts are pouring in.
